Henley Beach & Sommerton Park

Out and about this morning "before" the really hot weather. Old chair a little bit challenging to operate but all good.

Henley Sailing Club is conveniently located at the end of Burbridge Rd West Beach, close to the Airport, Adelaide CBD and Henley Square and easily accessible from the eastern suburbs.

The clubs sailing season is from October to April.

It is one of the oldest sailing clubs in South Australia, and was originally located near Henley jetty and was known as the "hole in the wall".

Somerton SLSC was formed in 1960 by two young men, Robin Kidney and Phil Lambourne. They joined the life saving movement in 1958 (at West Beach) and, after consultation with their peers, formed the Somerton Surf Life Saving Club.

Somerton Surf Life Saving Club is responsible for patrolling the beach between King Street, Brighton to the south and The Broadway, Glenelg to the North.

With spectacular beach frontage, The Somerton SLSC Bar & Bistro offers full modern facilities and has capacity to seat 130 people or 160 standing.
